God created the Heavens and the Earth. The angels were with Him even back then. Did God create them? Did they simply follow Him from wherever He came from? Nobody remembers, nor cares. They served dutifully while God was creating, and continued to serve afterwards. They were never compensated for their work, nor even treated respectably. They were simply expected to do as they were told. Lucifer, the morning star, was the first to take umbrage with this arrangement. Angels may have been the equivalent of familiars for God, but that didn't warrant the amount of abuse they had to put up with under His reign. Bubbly hadn't even claimed her name yet when Lucifer revolted, but she knew that she agreed with him and was tired of dealing with God's shenanigans. The angels had been forced to drain themselves and their magic to support God's creations, but were never granted anything in return for nearly killing themselves. Lucifer asked Leviathan to tempt Eve into disobeying God to prove a point, to show God that His plan wasn't perfect and unthwartable. Leviathan was punished by God for this, which angered the rebellious angels enough to revolt. When God cast the revolting angels to Hell, He hadn't anticipated them conquering the infinite Dungeon and claiming it as their throne on Earth. When they started being called demons and devils they happily took up the name as their own classification away from God's willing servants. When God similarly banned the angels that fell in love with mortals from Heaven the demons were happy to welcome them into Hell. Hell was a sprawling infinite Dungeon, far more vast than any magi could generate, and it required constant maintenance as a result. Lucifer had been appointed as the general leader of the demons since he had been the most prominent figure in the first revolution, so it was up to him to appoint the maintenance team. He asked for volunteers first, which is how Bubbly ended up being in charge. Since being in charge of the maintenance team gave her quite a bit of power she was given first dibs on names. Thus Beelzebub was promoted from an insult for a false god to the name of a real demon, and Bubbly was enthusiastic about her own promotion to an archdevil.
Due to God's manipulation of magic being far stronger than any angel or demon they unfortunately couldn't completely disobey His orders, hence why demons that made contracts with humans to borrow their bodies could be expelled simply by invoking His name. They instead focused on helping (or sometimes "helping") humans in other ways. Some pretended to be gods themselves, while others simply offered power directly or proposed ideas to humans similar to the first temptation. This was all collectively referred to as temptation. Demons are not the source of evil, merely encouragers of it. Most demons engaged in temptation for fun moreso than direct revolution against God and thus suggested some pretty depraved things, but Bubbly felt that every successful tempting brought the Earth out of His hands just a little bit more and focused more on tempting humans in a way that would ultimately make them happy.
God had promised an end to all things numerous times. The Flood was the first time, but He had pussied out of destroying His favorite creations via Noah and foolishly promised the survivors that He wouldn't flood the Earth again. He threatened to end the Earth dozens of times, and the demons watched in amusement as He struggled to get His Flock to obey Him time after time. The demons and their work proved time and time again that God was easily angered and not at all loving, but He continued to deceive His Flock. When He started talking about the Rapture and promising that His Flock would go to Heaven, demons and angels alike were skeptical. He seemed serious, though. The demons decided that, since the end was coming anyway, that they'd go buck wild and cause as much chaos as they could before it was over. When God announced to the angels and demons that He had given up, everyone was surprised. Sure the demons kind of expected Him to not go through with the Rapture, but they hadn't anticipated Him giving up on the Earth entirely. Life became a massive party for the demons, and Bubbly withdrew from the temptation game to focus full-time on cleaning and maintaining Hell for her cousins. The demons stopped communicating with humans directly since there was no longer any need to. Any evil and depravity that exists in the world currently is the machinations of mankind alone.
Bubbly is a very fitting nickname for Beelzebub. She's incredibly peppy and seems happy with her job. She loves her cousins that don't regard her with disdain, and she's happy to try and mend some fences with the abandoned angels that wanted to reach out. She matches Pawn's vocabulary and is incredibly giggly, which results in her sounding a bit like a terminally online teenage girl sometimes. She loves trying to help out mortals with contracts, but she's usually too busy with work to seek out contractees these days. She finds mortals and animals to be adorable and never lets them forget it, but she treats magic familiars as equals. The only time Bubbly isn't extremely positive and happy is whenever anything regarding the Bible is brought up. She knows the content front to back like any good demon would, but she hates listening to all the "mindless worship and drivel" of those that still believe in God. "Sure He's real, but He's a prick and Bubbly hates Him! She's surprised that God abandoned the entire Flock, but not disappointed.
Riel is Bubbly's favorite cousin. Not only does Riel help Bubbly clean up Hell, she's very nonjudgemental and willing to listen to Bubbly's problems. Riel is one of the few angels that kept contact.
Bubbly thinks Pawn is the most adorable thing in the world. She often treats him like a pet or a doll, but she does respect his strength and ability to an extent. She enjoys sparring with him the most out of the Dungeon Masters. She likes the fact Pawn is a "sinner" and tries to get him to embrace his own darkness.
Bubbly thinks Tab is cute, but Tab's open fear of Bubbly makes her anxious about talking to her. She tries to get Pawn to introduce her, but Tab's fear of flies gets in the way.
Bubbly appreciates how polite Keepsake is to her. She also recognizes that she is one of the only people Keepsake is polite to.
Bubbly does not visit SeaQuester unless Pawn backtracks to its Dungeon after cleaning up Hell, so she has no strong feelings about SeaQuester. She doesn't dislike SeaQuester, though.
Bubbly was one of the angels that was cast out of heaven after Lucifer's revolution. She already had strong negative feelings about God, but watching Him turn all her cousins against her was insult to injury. She trash-talks the big man whenever He's mentioned, and she's a huge advocate for disobeying every single one of His tenets.
Bubbly and Luci are not necessarily close friends, but they are strong allies. Bubbly willingly assumes control of the cleaning team, and Luci pays her well for her services. They are still cousins and have a bit of banter between each other, but for the most part Luci is too busy to speak with Bubbly for reasons other than cleaning related issues.
Leviathan is a magical being that happens to reside (partially) in Hell. Vi and Bubbly don't talk often, but they do encounter each other when Bubbly cleans and are quite fond of each other.
Hell, having been made by God, is the only infinite Dungeon in the world. Souls don't actually exist. Hell is filled only with fallen angels and some extremely powerful magical pests that feed on the magic in the place. It's contained in Earth's mantle and is thus extremely hot and full to bursting with molten magma. The demons used to try and stop it from flowing in, but after a while it became part of the place's aesthetic. The wellspring of magic often leaches out of Hell and into the rest of Earth, which allows humans to access magic as well. Demons claim that this is the only reason way humans could access magic, as well as the reason why most people associate witchcraft with demons even though most magi never talked to demons at all.
Demons are just fallen angels and thus have the same abilities angels do. They can heal like angels, but they can also imbue humans with magic. Unfortunately imbuing humans with large amounts of magic directly makes them sick in certain ways, which manifest in the form of 'caveats' or 'debuffs' or whatever humans like to call it. Most demons are chill and love humans, though there are a few outliers that delight in violence and whatnot. Most simply value freedom and happiness above all else, though they can sometimes be short-sighted and only focus on the happiness of the person they're currently talking to. Debauchery is their forte, and they pay little attention to a mortal's past in favor of influencing their future. A demon is the best friend of the innocent man with a guilty conscience, or of a guilty man with a clear one. Angels could theoretically make the same contracts with mortals that demons do, but since they were only allowed to serve God they didn't while He was around.
