Archive: Dungeons and Dragons: Scleria

EWW WE'RE GETTING INTO MY OLD STUFF GROSSSSS. The archive category is meant to be stuff that I was really proud of at the time I made them and represented key parts of my artistic growth, or things that I just still like the feel of. Gifts for others are in here too, since I'd hate to pretend something I gave to someone never happened if they still liked the art in question. This piece was done in FireAlpaca, as are a lot of pieces in this category. I liked the lighting at the time, though nowadays I probably would've done it differently. The main reason this is in here is because of the feathers. I was starting to figure out how feathered wings worked instead of just making them cloudlike. The wings here are a bit too armlike, but I was figuring out how to fold them and whatnot. The foreshortening here isn't the best, and the outfit is kind of ugly. I was also figuring out how I wanted to draw halos. I like having a lot of detail in halos, with lines and spikes and this that the other. This one is a bit too compact for my current tastes, but it was a step in the right direction. His hands are wonky, but what artist doesn't struggle with hands at first? This guy was a DnD NPC for Scleria and was the older brother of one of the players. His name was Sanctuary to match her Haven. He was a bit of a dick, admittedly. A real "guy that thinks he's too cool for everything" type, but he did love his sister dearly enough to help kill their father, which would've happened later in the campaign because their father was the White Lord. The players did not know this at the start of the campaign, they were going to find out much later.
